Second copy does not contain EXIF data

I've been trying for the past 45 minutes to make a second copy of several images in a gallery so as to move the duplicate image to another gallery. Of three images, only one was created with the EXIF info intact. I have repeatedly tried on the other two, and the system simply refuses to copy the EXIF. I've never had this problem prior to tonight.

Has something else changed that didn't make it into the release notes?

Can you show us the photos in question please, thanks.

There's no need for a release note on make 2nd copy, as the functionality hasn't been changed at all. I'll try and verify the feature as well, right now.

EDIT: Working fine for me, this is 2nd copy:

    exif is intact.

    Appreciate the fast respond Andy.

This is the EXIF in the initial image:
    http://ghealy.smugmug.com/photos/newexif.mg?ImageID=302533424&ImageKey=KZeX2

This is the page in the gallery:
    http://ghealy.smugmug.com/gallery/5036600_aLnX9/1/302588639_Wi8jy#302588639_Wi8jy

    This is the image I'm trying to copy;
    302533424_KZeX2-S.jpg
You can see it on page 5.

If you then go to page 1, you can see the duplicated image and that it contains no EXIF data. This has been frustrating.

    Appreciate the help.

If you don't mind, I'd like to play with your gallery a bit. I'll get it back to normal for you, but I'll be tinkering for a little while.

The beast rears its ugly head again! The apostrophe seems to be a burr under our saddle in so many different ways. Here's what I found out. You have an apostrophe in the Caption that is in the photo's File Info. So, when you uploaded, the captions were automatically read by SmugMug. Unfortunately, this is what is causing the problem. Here is a photo with the caption containing an apostrophe embedded in the File Info:

    http://ghealy.smugmug.com/gallery/5036600_aLnX9/1/302533424_KZeX2

and here is one without an apostrophe in the caption:

    http://ghealy.smugmug.com/gallery/5036600_aLnX9/1/302565341_vNgGA

The first, as you know, will not copy the EXIF information when making a second copy. The second will. This is only with photos that have the captions already embedded. If you change those captions in SmugMug, they will not change the way that the EXIF information is copied while making a second copy. For example, with the second photo above, you can add apostrophes to the captions using SmugMug's tools and it will not stop the EXIF information from being copied.

If you change the caption on the photo so that there is no apostrophe in the caption before adding to SmugMug, you will be able to make a second copy after it has been added to SmugMug with the EXIF information.

Sorry about this bug. I'll add it to the list for the engineers to fix.

So the solution is to upload to each gallery separately or upload without the apostrophe in the EXIF.

    Appreciate the feedback.
