I was working on a rose shot when I accidentally put a sharpening layer into difference blending mode. I don't generally like freaky PS effects, but I found it striking enough that I decided to build on it.

    This kind of stuff is not usually my cup of tea. I do, however, find this photo fascinating. I'm wondering if it might somehow help explain the theory of quantum mechanics. In any event, I like it a lot.

    Personally I think the fact that it IS a flower helps. Though it is an abstract it is in the true sense of that word, ie abstracted from something, not just made up paint blotches, or whatever.

    Thus has a lot more impact, when it works!
