Chipmunks and squirrels and deer, oh my!

Here are a few of the critters I ran into while hiking over the last week or so. There were many more, but these ones were kindly enough to pose for me :)

They were all shot handheld with a Canon 400mm 5.6 in a lot less light than I would have liked for this lens. I'm still undecided if #2 is a bit too 'glam', but I do kind of like the look for this one.

Fire away....

Hi Mike, I really like #1. Great pose, cute critter (no matter what Harry thinks about them).

I'm going with 1,3,& 4.thumb.gifthumb.gif #2 is just too busy for my taste, and the leaves in the fore ground are very distracting.

Awww, how cute! iloveyou.gif I love 1 & 3! 2 is a nice shot despite all the stuff and the last one is nice, I love that you can see the spots growing out.
Canon 40D, stock lens and now a Canon 55mm-250mm f/4-5.6 IS.

Thanks for the feedback, glad you like them. The rodents were definitely showing off last week. On #1, he was originally just barely peeking out, just the top of his head was visible. Once I started shooting, he jumped up into that pose. I couldn't believe it!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
