Best lens for indoor sports?
on a 40D body.
I want to use the new lens for youth basketball and also youth football (night time games with sideline access)
Last season I used the 85mm f/1.8 and found it a bit short and IQ not up to par.
I have the 200mm f/2.8L which is fabulous for baseball, but I find it to be too long for indoor sports.
Reading reviews, the 135mm f/2 L seems like a slam dunk, but I just wanted to bounce the idea here to see if there are any reasons why I should NOT buy this lens.
Thanks in advance.

I love both, but the 135mm is just something special.
Hope that helps.

I shoot a lot of hockey, a lot of low light theater work, and some indoor track.
This lens is just awesome. Tack sharp and fast.
I have shot with the 70-200mm, and to be honest, I don't think it comes close to my 135mm F2.0, or my 200mm F2.8 for sharpness, etc.
This is a great portrait lens, and a great indoor sports lens.
IMHO.
Peace,
Bob
