Most of the waterfowl have moved on north :tough But the good news is that means the cranes have arrived :D Here are some images of my first go at them:

    Love those cranes! I had the chance to photograph the original whooping crane flock from which all others are derived now back in November. They are such stately creatures and your pictures show that as well with these sandies. Nice shooting.

    PS. Harry, thanks for the link. Good read and I had forgot about that magazine.

    Thanks for the comments and link, Harry. I'm still on a pretty steep learning curve with bird images. It has become painfully obvious how every little flaw shows headscratch.gif .

    Stephen, thanks for your comments also. I enjoyed watching these guys through the lens. They can appear so stately one minute and so goofy the next. That's pretty interesting that you got shot of the "parent" flock of whoopers. One of those milestone events to remember.
