Is the right-click protection designed to be a one-time use feature?

The second time a user right-clicks, there is no protection (at least in firefox). Is this a known bug?

This is not a bug, it is a feature... for a few reasons. One is that the right click menu has several legitimate functions that are really annoying to lose (copying a link for instance, etc). By disabling those entirely, you are inviting them to try and find away around it (which is really easy). We added more security to that feature (try and save the image... and open what it saves).

So it is better security than what other sites offer, with less of the annoyance.

But how is it secure? I had no problem whatsoever saving an image to my desktop... just used a screen capture.

By screen capture you got what ever resolution your monitor is set to. Not very good for printing.

There is no way you are going to prevent the determined, well informed user from stealing your pictures unless you don't display them in the first place.

Ben, thanks for that explination. I had noticed that you put the spacer.gif in the foreground. Very clever. That added layer will certainly deter most people. I'm glad right click is still available. You're right. It is useful. Thanks!

True... but not completely secure. Point taken.
