...When I saw this demoiselle damselfly flying around my pond at lunchtime today. This is one thing I certainly didn't expect to find in the garden (AFAIK they only breed in running water).

Is this series of photos 'stacked'? If so, you must be very quick as these beautiful creatures don't sit still for long.
Beautiful series Brian.

Thanks Michelle - yes there is some focus stacking in all the shots- done by hand. I tend to take a very quick sequence of shots at different focus points when doing things like this- always starting with the head in clean focus and then trying for the other parts of the body if they appear to be slightly oof in the viewfinder.
Oddly I went into the back garden to shoot some azure damselflies but found this instead- a bit hard to miss

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
This one must be in the peacock line. Michael
The buglife here in sweden is just dull... And if you happen to find something 60mm is way to short anyway

Ron - I don't normally go out in the garden with anything specific in mind to photograph, but this time I did go out with the aim of getting some of the common blue/green damsel shots but found this instead- a very pleasant suprise especially as this was on my to do list
