Feed the birds.....

Hello All,
After a tough morning over at the beach, Andy and I met up with Ian at the Baylands, Friday afternoon. It was pretty funny. It was raining on and off, so we'd spend 10 minutes shooting and slogging through the mud, and then spend 15 minutes in the car trying to stay dry. Then we'd repeat....lol
Andy wanted to try something different, even though there were lots of egrets and herons around. So he got one of the rolls left from lunch (Friday morning will be covered with a post in sports) and started doing his bird trainer act :lol
Here birdie, birdie.....nice birdie

He wanted to feed the smaller birds not the big guys like the ducks, pigeons and gulls. He lured a few red-winged black birds close enough to take the bread out of his fingers.

In between downpours we did manage to get some decent egret and heron shots.

The light was pretty bad. It varied between overcast and dusk levels :dunno
Fortunately, we had a vehicle to wait out the rain. So we stayed dry, for the most part. Unlike the poor birds :uhoh

We were there a couple of hours and maybe got an hour's worth of shooting in. All that waiting in the car made us ravenous, so we had to adjourn to the local cantina for cervezas and mexican food :eat :slurp :eat
The day started off pretty bad, but as usual, ended up delightfully :thumb
Thanks for looking,
Steve

Looks like it was a beautiful shooting day, despite the weather and light and such...
More importantly, you surely had great company, that's what matters!
IMHO the two last shots are great: they're beautifully exposed, sharp... And the very last one is quite funny!
Thanks so much for sharing!
Take care!

Good shots except for the first one. I'm still amazed, Andy sharing food. I never thought I would see the day.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Yep, like they say "The worst day of shooting is better than the best day at work"
Thanks for the comments on the shots. I didn't do much post processing on the first 2
Thanks for commenting,

Yep, we always have good times, whether we get any shots, or not
You didn't like Andy's impersonation of the Pigeon Lady from Mary Poppins?
Thanks for looking and commenting,
Steve
Well, actually Andy was sharing my food
Thanks for looking,

It's not about you, or anyone else, matching Harry's work or my pics. It's all about whether your pics today, look better than yesterday's pics
Thanks for your comments,
