I plan to get the Canon 1.4x Extender II for my my 70-200/2.8L.
Does anybody know if it is also compatible with the Tamron 180mm/3.5
Macro? If not I might consider getting the cheaper kenko tc instead.

The Canon protudes into the lens, so it does not work with many non-Canon lenses. If the rear element of the Tammy is not recessed, it won't work. Caution is advised.

    Interesting.

The Tamron has a recessed rear lens element (about 1 inch)
but like the Canon 135mm/2.0 it has only a small box chaped
opening towards the camera body so I'm not 100% shure ...
altough it certainly looks like it would fit. The 1.4x fits the 135/2.0 right?
