Cattle Egrets

I think these are cattle egrets. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I took these in Malaysia about 5 weeks ago.

All of these are fantastic captures of a beautiful bird! Exposure and sharpness are spot-on. It's easy to over-expose white colored birds, but you didn't! The good light obviously didn't hurt either.

You certainly can see why its alternate or former name is the buff-backed heron. They are just ever so slightly different than the ones in the US. Beautiful images.

Thanks Ron Yeah it was an overcast day which really helped with the whites.

Excellent set Mike. In the US they only get that buff color when its mating season.

Cheers Harry. Are they usually white there? I don't know about the Malaysian ones. We weren't there long enough to see if that was just mating colours or not.

Excellent series. Gorgeous bird. I can't really pic a favorite they are all perfect exposure and sharp. I would like to know your equipment setup for these. Looks like a Canon image to me.

After posting this reply I saw "Canon CPS Member" but I'd still like to know your setup if you don't mind.

I use Nikon gear! D300, and shot using my Nikkor 18-200 VR Take that Canon!

were is it's four legged friends ??? nice shots I have only had 2 sightings of these egrets and only a few shots .I like the color
