I saw it on pbase. Note the silver rings on the front? Is it a custom themed 70-200/4.0? :scratch

Looks like a 70-200 f2.8 non IS with a double stacked filter and some impact labels.

It does look like the Canon EF 70-200mm, f4L USM of some sort. There is a short silver ring native to the lens (on mine anyway), but I count two additional filters on the front.

Here is the Canon "official" image of the IS version of that lens:

Sorry about the original post with image and thanks for modding it.

Hm .. the thickening behind the zoom ring looks different but is probably
be an optical illusion due to the angle.

    It says 70-200 but I can't tell the f-stop.
    I don't think it's IS.

70-200/4 non-IS. The writing near the distance window only reads Ultrasonic. On the IS version it reads 70-200mm Ultrasonic. On the non-IS version, the 70-200mm label is down by the rear element. The IS version has the Image Stabilization label there. The barrel profile is slightly different between the two as well. Booyah. Next. :D

I have had the non-IS version and I now have the IS model. I never noticed these differences you pointed out. Well, so much for me being observant!

Easy, really. Went to Canon's site, downloaded both pics, and compared them to the original.
