As I live up the road in Jacksonville, I've been fortunate to have witnessed quite a few space launches. The most impressive were the moon launches, using the Saturn rockets. One, in particular, was most memorable. I was very close to the launch site in a boat. When the shock waves hit me, my shirt began to flap wildly. The sounds were from another world and the visual impact of the fire in the night sky was unforgetable.
I have never taken a single picture of any of the launches I watched.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

as close as you were. The feel alone must have be something else.
Thank you! I had the Nikon 80-400 VR lens mounted on my D300. Hearing and feeling the shockwaves was awesome!

Theres a lens with reach. Its reviews hold it in fairly high regard. & its
light. I need a problem like that.
