Kansas City MS Challenge Walk
This weekend the Kansas City chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society held their 2008 Challenge Walk. The Challenge Walk is a three day event during which participants walk a total of 50 miles. I have had the pleasure of working as a volunteer for the past four Kansas City challenge walks. This year my volunteer duties allowed me to do some picture taking.
Finish - Day Two (Saturday)
Hanging out at the finish - Day Two
Approaching the finish - Day Two
Prefinish area - Day Three (Sunday)
On day three (Sunday) the route has a "prefinish" area. Once all the walkers are in prefinish they walk the final mile to the "official" finish line as a group.
Prefinish - Day Three
Prefinish medial area - Day Three
As you can imagine, 3 days and 49 miles take their toll on some of the participants.
Prefinish - Day Three
In the prefinish area walkers put on their "day 3" shirts. Most of the walkers have blue shirts. Those walkers who have been diagnosed with MS wear orange shirts.
Coming into prefinish - Day Three
Final mile - Day Three

Volunteers behind the scenes, finish - Day Three
Hope you enjoyed the pics, thanks for looking.

I like these the most - together they give a very good feel of how tiring but rewarding such an event is.
Some tighter cropping and PP could make these really great.
Nice work
