Walking down by the canal, and this family of malleard swam across the front of a family of wild Canada geese on the far bank.

    Canada Geese No Longer
    In Oakland, California, near where I live, Canada Geese are so happy at a lake and nature preserve that they have settled in as permanent residents. No more tedious migrations for a huge, growing flock. The geese are now considered pests. Their possessiveness of this territory amuses me.
