Southern California, abandoned bldgs or towns

I'm new to this forum and am hoping someone can guide me to a location(s) in southern california. I would love to find abandoned houses/buildings/gas stations, etc. that are reasonably private for a shoot I'm doing June 18-19. I'll be based near Los Angeles. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm interested to see if anyone has any locations for you. I live in Orange County where private property, especially old buildings, are always fenced off with no access. I think for insurance purposes and considering how sue happy we are in this state, you won't find much that is accessible!!! (One can always hope! ) Oh....and welcome to the forum!!!

I've never been there in the summer and it's supposed to be veeeery smelly, but first thing popping into my mind is the north (east, depending on where or what you read) shore of the Salton Sea.
