In the coming weeks I will be posting some of my favorite newly captured images from the Southern Utah area. Most were shot in remote locations within the boundaries of well known places. I appreciate all comments. 300154196_x64im-XL.jpg

Interesting shot, but the haloing around the tree kills it for me.

is that sinking ship? what trail is this on?
i really like the comp on this, very interesting.
the over the top treatment really brings out color in the wood!

but, just like david the haloing for me is a killer, im ok with over the top treatments, im just one that doesnt like specific issues like haloing...(not that anybody needs to serve my likes):D
if this treatment and haloing is your intent as "artsy" please forgive me for not going for the haloing...im not trying to show disrespect to you in anyway:D

The image has an ethereal quality that I was looking for. The halo against the brighter contrasting sky helps intensify the detail in the wood.

Over sharpening.....? You asked for comments, so, gorgeous country, nice scene, nice framing, halos distracting to me.

Well that certainly popped out at me!
I like it...the tree really makes it for me by making it different.
The saturated color in the back pops it too. thumb.gif

The concept and colors are great. However, the haloing bothers me as well. The idea was good, but you should have either used masking when working the burning/dodging or something like NIK Software's Viveza color control plug-in for PS.
