Yup, there's no better way to turn a $1000 lens into a $300 lens than by adding a cheap peice of glass to the end of it.

I walked around downtown after work for awhile shooting, and looking at the results I'm glad I did
The camera stores must make a decent mark-up on them because they are pushing them as protection. I've actually got it from a few different locations too.
