My wife and I had some time in Hawaii to drive around and observe the local birds. We found a large taro farm, and plunked down for an evening to watch what might come by. This black-crowned night heron made our day. It fished right in front of us for about an hour- not caring that we watch, gawked, and occasionally cheered it on.
