Hi, all, there is a research group, the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory, that is trying to get about 400 black film canisters for some projects they are running. Unfortunately, with digital so big, it's practically impossible! (And with this being mainly a digital site, who even knows if there are any out there with any canisters left!)

If you have any canisters that you are willing to part with for free, I would love to collect those for them. I think even just a few of them would be helpful - especially if I am able to get many people just sending a few.

If you have any you can part with and are able to mail them to me, can you contact me at andi@tippiepics.com and I'll gladly send you my mailing address.

Unfortunately, I can't reimburse you for your donation, but I am sure you'll get some wonderful gratitude from the students and faculty there!

Thanks so much!

Just run down to your local processing places...drug stores, etc. They have old film canisters. Many are the translucent ones, but they have black, too, they'd give you.

Well, I live in a town of 1500 and we don't have any local processing places! Laughing.gif! We have a Walmart 30 miles away that doesn't have any - and that's the only place. That's why I thought to come here. (I live 4 hours from a large city.)

I've also hit up some local photographers that take photos on film as well as others I know.....

Anyway, I hope it's okay that I've posted and asked this here since I don't have that many resources for this.

Years ago Kodak had a recycling program. We used to send hundreds up to them in big boxes. They might be willing to work out something.

I'll take a look, I might have a few, but I don't think so. Fuji is all translucent, and even a lot of the recent Kodak film is translucent, so I don't know how many black ones are out there anymore. What's the smallest number that is worth sending out there?

You know, I can only gather about 4 myself so any number is worth it - if it's worth it to you to send them.... I don't want you to go through the hassle if it's a pain, though!

Just email me if you want to send them and I'll get you my address. andi@tippiepics.com.

    Thanks so much!
