A very nice and very funny series Harry thumb.gifthumb.gif Man, you were definitely in the right place at the right time rolleyes1.gif

I hope he doesn't go for another fish for the right foot. Then he'd have to worry about picking up a matching purse :lol4

    That was one big fish
That looked way too big for that bird, but then he pecks and shreds instead of swallows like egrets, herons and pelicans.

I'm waiting for diving pelican shots next!

And some more white pelican shots! Do they go to the fish cleaning station and stand on the fisherman's heels too?

You are learning a lot about wildlife!

I've found that it always pays to keep an ey eon that tree while I'm out at the wetlands. You're right about the osprey they are notoriously bad accessorizers. :D

I'm sure he managed to get it off his foot and chow down. I'm going on a river cruise today so maybe I'll come back with some diving pelicans. The pelicans probbaly would stand on the fishermen's heads or their shoulders at the very least if the fishermen would cooperate. :D

    Hey Jeff,

I ain't no fool. I see a tree and I see an eagle, osprey or caracara in that tree every day. After 3-4 times I get the idea that hanging out by that tree could be a good idea.

Yes, I missed this thread. Glad I caught it, great thread, great shots and story.

Do you put the fish in the tree? Try for a smaller fish next time. My ospreys have been pretty boring all week. The male was flying with a fish, once. The female keeps looking around, I would think her neck would be sore. My male seems to be more the love them and leave them type. And if I did get them, my tree/pole is further away than yours is. (And I can't leave them a fish like that, it would take up the whole nest)

Can't wait to see the pelicans. I miss my pelican friend, fickle though he was.
