well, a part of what's left of it :D

I loved the rust-colors of this 'thing' that was still standing. It was used to load/offload ships, I think, as it had some sort of crane-like structure and was situated right next to a canal.

Made in 1974,

Last inspected in 2001:

and mainly consisting of lots of rusty parts :D

Wound up:

The base of the crane was used as a canvas:

I'm not sure, but I think it might have been a while since the last ship docked here:

And of course, being the dutchie that I am, I went there on my bicycle. The rust on my bike kinda links it together with the rest of the shots :lol3

c&c always appreciated.

Heck of a series of shots. thumb.gif That you went there and back on your
rusty / trusty bike is very green indeed. :D I've been thinking of airing
up the tires on mine as fuel for my outfit is closing on $5.00 per US gallon.

So! Jealous! wings.gif I'm glad you found the place and got a good set out of this. It looks partially demolished, so do you know if it's going to be around for a while? I guess if it'e been around since '74 you have time. :D

I love the colors that you brought out in these. A lot of people just photograph the rust and just let it be rust. But I know that if you fix it in post (lol3.gif) there are tons of colors in every square inch.

I love the last shot. That's the shot I wished I could get because it's so Dutch! I love that bell. lol3.gif

    :D Michael
Wait till you get over here, at about $9US/gallon now :D

Actually, I am used to go pretty much anywhere on bicycle, as long as it is within the city. It's also good for the physical me thumb.gif
If the ride is over an hour or so, I might consider other means (if it is raining maybe sooner lol3.gif)

Thanks, Schmoo :D yes, I did find it in the end, and I loved the colors. It would have been a waste not to use them somehow.

I think it's mainly demolished, and still actively being demolished.
    This was the site:

The green arrow indicates where the images were taken. The yellow line indicates a connection between the crane thing and the plant that is no longer there. I think of the buildings of the plant, about 80% is already down. I doubt it will be around for much longer :cry

that last one is pretty damn brave!
    or stupid lol3.gif

I'm quite used to riding a bike, and was actually riding it without hands, but I needed a part of me visible in it for my daily project :uhoh

Yes, I have noted for quite sometime that Europe / other spots on the
planet have been paying through the nose for fuel while we have not been.
So, I have been telling people here that its about time we too step up
to the plate and pay just as much. They look at me funny when I say it.
If we were paying $9.00 USD per gallon we'd be getting greener a hell of
a lot faster. We might even consider building our cities smarter too
if people had to walk / bike to what they needed.

When I was in Germany + I walked most everywhere or took the train.
Taxi when needed. :D Had a bike for a short while until I about killed
myself on it in a crash going across some rail tracks. Note to self....
make sure the axle nuts are tight. mwink.gif It was a cool crash though.
If a crash can be thought of as cool. hehe...
Two bikes were toasted in the incident. We both walked away. thumb.gif

Yes, the bike is a bit rusty, but it can be expected, it being 29 years old. :D
