What else is there to do but take a photograph or two :)

Evacuated last week from work so I took advantage of a very calm Salthouse Dock in Liverpool, UK. The landscape in the background is a developement called Liverpool One.

I decided to HDR these because the light wasn't very good. The originals are in my gallery under Landscapes.

Well, compositionally I'd say you did well with your unexpected break. But, what's with those glaring neon colors everywhere? I am not sure whether you did this on purpose or it's some strange side effect of HDR processing, but they are extremely distracting. Almost as if the picture is poking fun at itself...

IMHO, it would be quite a cool shot if those neons were just toned down a little.

A very good shot. Worthy of a front page on the local paper. I don't connect with the title and the shot. So I disregarded it in looking at it. :D

you did an very good job creating this too. A very newsworthy shot.

is it over saturated? I do enjoy the color in this shot.

    Cheers.

    Thanks guys,

Here are the original shots so you can compare them to the HDR ones. The colours are originally there but have been boosted by saturation.
The title was mainly based on my unexpected break from work :)

Hmm, interesting to see your originals. I definitely prefer the HDR rendition of water, sky, buildings etc. Just the exaggerated blues and pinks bother me a bit. I do think that a slight boost could enhance the overall surreal effect quite nicely, but in my opinion it's simply too much of a good thing in the first versions...
