This was a very overcast/cloudy day. The sun was in and out all day long. Looking for some insight! Thanks...

OK here my view (but I am no expert)

    1) A tighter crop, drop out the area behind the rider, its very dark

    4) I would crop tighter, probably, behind bike 159 but in front of 00

    5) again tighter crop, loose the bottom right corner

    6) Crop but do it off centre to move the bike from being in the centre of the picture.

Hope this helps, nice pictures though

Your white balance is off. Data shows you had it set manually. Next time, leave it on auto, especially under constantly changing conditions. The D50's auto WB is actually quite good.

I have to echo the WB comment. Your color cast is all over the map. Did you take the time to set a specific manual WB or was that an accident? Watch that in the future.

On top of WB, everything looks pretty washed out. Some curves could help here, maybe a filter next time... or just a better day. There's only so much you can do with a crap day (in other words, don't feel bad, not much you could do).

One thing you could do, you need slightly faster shutter speeds or more practice at panning technique. Most all of your subject riders are quite blurry.

MX ain't easy, keep at it thumb.gif

The back lighting seems to be underexposing the image. Did you try a polorizer

    thanks...
the WB was set and I didn't even think of taking it off. Its hard to notice everything... lol I need to work on the pre-shoot check list.... I picked these but have tons more. I am truly early in my photography. And appreciate the C&C! I'll do my best to take it all in!...

Shutter speed is a must depending on the day conditions, polarizer helps alot, and a flash can do wonders!!! WB also is a good thing to keep on auto! keep at it and you'll get there!

    MX action
Hindsy - One thing I noticed and not mentioned, was lack of background blur. Use wider aperture along with faster shutter spd.. Apolarizer helps, but reduces light intake. So, on a cloudy day, it's likely to force higher ISO and/or slower shutter speeds. Which, create their own potential problems.
This is where/when f2.8 constant aperture lenses help alot.

Where, how, does one look exif data on images here?
