    Hi Paolo,
I would have liked to have seen more of your wife, and maybe a bit less of the background. Also, her face is almost exactly in the center of the frame, not the most pleasing arrangement. There's a fairly easy to follow "rule" which is just a guide, but it's called the "rule of thirds." I don't hold it up as the answer to all composition questions, but I usually try to imagine horizontal and vertical grid lines dividing the viewfinder into thirds (nines?).

If you place a subject near one of the intersections, it usually results in a more pleasing arrangement.

Let us see more, and welcome to DGrin.

I do have to agree with Icebear - On the other hand, some things you did right:
    • You have your wife looking away from the sun, which can help reduce squinting
    • You are shooting in dappled light, but managed to avoid hot spots on her face
    • Your wife's upper body is turned nicely away from the camera, which is usually a much more pleasing aspect

I had a crop 'version' in wich she's not centered and there is less background, but i posted the original so i could get some critiques from the shot it shelf.mwink.gif

I like the crop much better clap.gif
I think there is still a bit too much dead space above her - you may want to crop some of that off too.

Why don't you try cropping just at the top of that big rock?

hope this is OK; I took the liberty to take a stab at a crop. her face is about a third of the way down in the frame, and about a third from the side.
