So, I decided to experiment and take some shots of myself at 6, 7, 8 and 9 months pregnant.

This is 6 months.... Don't know if i like it, but it could be because it is me looking at myself.

Thoughts??

I think that it is a great photo of an expectant mother. I like the B&W treatment, lighting, pose and composition. Given that this is a self portrait, I think that you did a great job.

    Great photo and congrats. :D

Congrats on the new family member!

15524779-Ti.gif with all the above except the lighting. I'm thinking I would like to see a bit more of your face to make it a bit less anonymous. It might be an idea to clone out the bit of the forearm showing. It's just kinda hanging in space and is a distraction.

Aside from that, this is a real winner!

    Thanks Scott and Lee,

I don't have a studio setup so the lighting and the background were very makeshift. We decided to order some equipment and it arrived today...so I will see what else I can come up with.

Scott, I agree with the hanging arm...i will work on that.

I just have a thing for maternity shots. I enjoy all of it, even the lighting, the lack of the face leaves an air of mystery and is quite sexy if I may be so bold. Quite a beautiful woman you are, indeed!

I have to agree w/DI-Joe. I like the lighting, the air of mystery and it is a very sexy composition. Great job. Are you going to post the 7,8 & 9 versions?

I agree that a bit more light on your face would strengthen this. I gotta say though...that has gotta be the sexiest maternity shot I have ever seen. Awesome conversion as wel.

Thanks. He has already seen it, but yet a good idea for his first "half" fathers day. iloveyou.gif

I want to do a series of photos in the baby's room (until he is old enough to think it is gross!). Don't know yet if this one is a fit....might be a little to much...especially if my father sees it.

I'm thinking i like this one better....

FWIW, I definitely prefer seeing a face. A body alone seems clinical, not intimate.

I totally agree Richard. Take the second pose with the face exposed with the first outfit and that's a winner. The holding onto the material is distracting from the overall shot IMO

Ditto on what everyone is saying about seeing your face. I love these shots, very elegant. I'm going to have to try and do something like this when my husband and I start having kids in a couple years... great job.
