Hi Y'all,

Haven't been shooting as much wildlife as I would like lately as the upcoming exhibit and other stuff has been keeping me far busier than a retired person should be. :cry

Anyhow I've gotten some time to process some older captures.

a black-crowned night heron - D3 and 300mm f.4 = 1.7 TC

momma otter and its cub - D3 with the 300mm f/4 and 1.7 TC

red-bellied woodpecker - D3 with 300mm f/4 and 1.7 TC

osprey - D3 with the 300m f/4 + 1.7 TC
287653703_fUfzg-XL.jpg

crested caracara - you can see the radio transmitter on its back- the wildlife folks are studying the movements of the caracara due to its endangered status - D3 with the 300mm f/4 + 1.7 TC
287653868_gMwvw-XL.jpg

anhinga chick with its mother - D300 with the 500mm f/4 + 1.4 TC

comorant - D300 with the 500mm f/4 + 1.4 TC

mom feeding chick - you can see a discarded egg in the lower right - D300 with the 500mm f/4 + 1.4 TC

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Some of these are really funny! Like the mammal with all the sand in his mouth. The last one of the other bird doing a pretty thorough dentist visit! All very cute and I love the wing extention and how close you got to them. [zoom and otherwise] Very nice!thumb.gif

I like to see a little jibing. I was just being a wee bit sarcastic. rolleyes1.gif So, I suppose if you ever comment on mine it'll be "okay for an Iowan photographer?"

    Chuck,

    Thanks Chuck

the night heron BIF was captures at 8:22 AM

the osprey BIF was at 8:23 AM (different day from the night heron capture)

the caracara BIF was at 3:05 PM

When I shoot at the Wetlands for a day I start around sunrise 6:30 - 7:00 AM and shoot until around 11:00 AM. Then I head home (I live about a 15 minute drive from the wetlands) for lunch and a Corona. I hang out at the house drinking and taking a swim until around 2:30 PM when I return to the wetlands and shoot until sunset. Its rough but someone has to do it. :ivar

That would depend on how good the capture is.

If the pic really sucks I would say "That sucks even for an Iowan photographer". wings.gif
