Hit the NASCAR race at the big triangle track in Pennsylvania last weekend. Sunday was a long, hot day, with a big crowd (140,000+) and lots of noise. In other words, just about a perfect day :D Hit the track Friday for practice and qualifying, found some "indoor" activities for Saturday (temps were expected to be around 97F). These photos are all from race day on Sunday, primarily from my seat in the top row of the main grandstand.

You can buy just about anything in the vendor area...used race tires, just $20!

Tight quarters on pit road.

Clint Boyer spun coming out of turn 3 onto the front stretch, and ended up backed into the wall.

Unfortunately, Boyer spun right in front of Juan Pablo Montoya. Among other things, the hit damaged Montoya's oil cooler, causing him to go down the front stretch trailing flames, eventually stopping at the exit of pit road.

NASCAR really is a team sport - even the best drivers can't win without a good pit crew.

Thanks, guys, appreciate it! I was shooting with a Canon 40D and Canon 100-400L IS lens. My seat is in the top row of the main grandstand, just before the start/finish line. Other than the first two, all these were shot from my seat.

Some nice shots although you might like to revisit them in post-processing as they look a little "muddy" to me. Maybe try and reduce the shadows a little. Still good work though. :)
