How do I get rGB colorspace after optimizing for web ("File/Save for web ...")

Trying again for an answer to a strange result in CS3. When I optimize for the web (reduce size and click "File/Save for web and other devices"), I get a file that shows no "Color profile" head in Bridge metadata. When I re-open in PS, I'm am asked to assign a profile, but when I again "Save for web ...", the metadata again shows no assigned profile. I'm assuming results are in sRGB colorspace since it's my understanding that this is the gamut best suited for screen display, but have no way of knowing this. Can someone explain what's happening here? Obviously I'm missing something. Many thanks for your time.
See my work at http://www.flickr.com/photos/26525400@N04/sets/. Policy is to initially upload 10-20 images from each shoot, then a few from various of the in-process shoots each time I log on, until a shoot is completely uploaded.
