Greyhounds

Took my son to the Strong Museum of Play last week to see the new Clifford the Big Red Dog exhibit. (He's wild about dogs either despite or because we have four cats.) Bit of a surprise at the museum, because they also had real doggies -- greyhounds! There was a greyhound animal rescue group there.

These are about the friendliest dogs I've ever seen. Keep in mind this is a museum with hundreds of children, mostly under kindergarten age, running around, touching them, patting them, etc.

Didn't get a lot of good shots (the dogs moved around, kids moved around, and I had to keep an eye on the boy) but I thought I'd share anyway.

(yes, I know she's blurry. These are fast dogs!)

    Some nice shots there.

Greyhounds really are amazing dogs. Did you hear any of them bark when you were there? As a greyhound adopter (My wife and I have 3 now), we were at a greyhound picnic last weekend. Quietest dog picnic you've ever seen, and that's with probably a couple hundred dos there.

If you want some real fun sometime, go for photos of greyhounds when they're running!

No, no barking that I can recall. And again, this is with dozens if not hundreds of pre-K kids running around, screaming, etc. The greyhounds were remarkably patient and gentle. In fact Pic #3 is me trying to get a snapshot while the dog was trying to get into position to lick my face. Don't worry, I somehow managed to avoid getting dog-slobber on the lens!:D

nice job, they are beautiful dogs, i almost rescued one this spring but decided that she wasnt a good fit, my yard is small and i have spiral stairs... i was afraid she'd hurt herself.. the Greyhound rescue told me it wasnt a big issue but that the stairs could be a potential problem!
