This guy is in his third year. He frequently hangs out at this same pond. We're hoping he has a good photogenic rack this year. Also crossing our fingers that he makes it through another hunting season.

Probably just thinking that he doesn't want to share his forage eek7.gif

The handle bars never dawned on me but they do indeed look similar. Whatever you want to compare them to, in early velvet they simply look goofy ne_nau.gif

If you were up here in mid summer they pretty much move around between 10pm and 6am to avoid the heat. In winter you can't miss them. They all stand around all day in the middle of the roads ne_nau.gif

Nice one Ric. That guy is a good bit older based on the size of his beard.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Lovely rack. I've always wanted to say that and not get slapped! rolleyes1.gifmwink.gif Seriously, that is a fine image. Hope you can continue to see him.

Thanks for the comments, guys. Likewise we hope we get to see him grow into a big boy. I think the legal limit for hunting them is something like a 30 in. spread and you rarely see one in rural AK bigger than that unless you get way out in the bush. Ironically the only moose I've ever seen in AK with really big racks are in town around Anchorage where it is illegal to discharge firearms ne_nau.gif
