SOS is Harry's affectionate term for rodents, particularly squirrels.

As promised, I returned to the Sonoran Desert Wildlife Museum today. This time I had a memory card with me. Here are a few shots from what turned out to be a fun father's day.

First our hero, Godzilla:

Who then is engaged by two from the SOS:

Meanwhile, these interested bystanders look on:

a Mexican Wolf:

A roadrunner:

A prairie dog:

A mountain lion:

the bobcat couldn't care less:

Thanks for dropping by.

Well, almost Ben. I did leave my 300 mm behind so I used my 200 without IS plus 1.4x. :D

Imagine my disapointment as I opened this thread hoping for some documented scenes of carnage inflicted on disease ridden rodents. :cry

Nice shots but no squirrel was harmed. ne_nau.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Ric, it is. They have created a totally natural habitat dedicated to the preservation of desert wildlife. It is about 30 miles West of Tucson in the Sonoran Desert, and it gets extremely hot! No humidity though. :D

You did well photographing the "spawn of satan"
I would go with "cactus wren", then Jeff's " sage thrasher" for your unknown bird! ne_nau.gif
