Went over to scruz this morning. Beside being overcast, surf was kind of
flat...from Steamers.

Couple of groms hopped in the water and offered up a show. They're fun to
watch. Most of them will paddle for as much as others will let them have.

That is a really nice picture for an overcast day, must have been a little bit of light from somewhere... About how high above the waves are you for this photo?

    Thank you for the comment!

The sun was just starting to peek out of the clouds.

I'm about 25 or 30 feet off the water. You can get an idea from this photo.

www.wavewatch.com and go to the cameras for a look at Steamers for an
    idea of the spot.

thats a nice shot, i can't recall a picture ever taken at that angle. If i recall Santa Cruz early 60's even in June the temperate would be someone in the early 50's, definitely a nasal cleaning

    Thanks Ed!

That particular shot was taken in September. The air temp is usually around
70F but the water temp remains a fairly constant 50F year round.

Don't see much shark activity here. Though they are there. When you get
bumped in the line up by a porpoise, that makes you think :uhoh

Whites hang about the seals over here. No way would i get in with them.

Our river here is absolutely full of bull sharks & i used to dive on peoples boats & clean the props/rudders of barnacles etc. I had a dolphin come right up to my face in the murk under a boat & scare the living hell out of me. Your in the dark & you know something 8 foot long is inches from you. I have also had one lay perfectly still under me when i was cleaning & when ive stretched out...i stood on him, i came out of the water like a missile from a sub. Some sort of 'in' dolphin joke i assume.
