Well,
Just a quick trip with a couple of members. Mainly to get away from the heat in CA b/c the Getty Villa is just off the ocean and I wanted to play with my new toy, a Tokina 11-16, which despite a small backfocusing issue is a nice lens and my seldom used macro.

Getty Villa is a Roman Villa themed home of J. Paul Getty, which is now a museum of Greco-Roman art. Here are some shots from the day.

1. Enterance to one of the Peristyles IIRC.


2. Nice patterns.


3. Playing with dof, not enough I think, as the bee in the foreground is a bit soft.


4. Gate.


5. I think they said that they put Medusa's face on the bottom on the chadeliers to ward off evil spirits or something like that.


6. Of course you have to have columns.


7. A candid couple walking down a corridor or arches.

Hi Tom, I think we can all count on seeing great peeks into the beauty of the LA area, and this is nothing short of that.

I love your b/w conversions in particular. The last shot is also very sweet and atmospheric.

Great shots Tom! I think they all are really well done and definetly show the beauty of that place. 1,5, and 7 stand out for me. I would say 7 is my favorite. The couple captured walking hand in hand is really touching. Awesome capture!
