Slideshow Problems (HTML)

When place a new image in my "slideshow" folder, it will not play on my homepage slideshow. Can you please help? http://www.winzeler.smugmug.com.
It appears to me it's only images that I have uploaded since the size revamping (i.e. XL, XXL, XXXL, etc.). So all of the images loaded prior to this update seem to play just fine, but my more recent work will not.

I am using the HTML version of the slideshow and want to stick with this version for now.

If you want to continue to use the old and no longer supported version of the slideshow, you will not be able to see any photos added after the security/privacy changes.

You should really switch to the new flash slideshow: --- Denise

1- Okay. But for viewers who have NOT installed flash, is there an HTML version that will play as back-up or a way to put up a static image?

2- With the way my borders are defined on my page, will the new flash show be able to play larger images? In other words, Is there a CSS boundary issue with the background I've chosen, so that my images will only play Large or smaller? This seem like it was an issue when I was debating switching previously.

Then I am afraid I MUST cancel my pro account and move elsewhere. The Flash requirement is completely unacceptable to me; this is a primary reason I came here in the first place, because you folks used AJAX instead of that craptastic proprietary flash stuff.

    Cheers,
    Robert~

The old Javascript slideshow hack was just that - a hack, and it isn't surprising that it no longer works.

That being said, I'm sure that it's possible to modify the javascript to take account of image-key's - it's just that smugmug doesn't feel obliged to do the modifications themself, since they're no longer supporting it. (It's unclear whether they ever supported it.)

You can also use third-party slideshows that work via the RSS feeds. I'm sure that you'd be able to find a free open-source javascript slideshow on the web that could take the RSS feed as input.

Hi Robert, ouch I'm sorry you'd leave over this? The olde javascript show does indeed work, you just can't update it (sorry).
I wish I had a better answer for you!

Andy, is there nothing you've come across (ie. another hack) that would make new images work for the time being?

You might try replacing a photo and see if it uses the new one. Maybe the
replacement photo doesn't get a key added.
