I see you are putting that mathematical brain to good use....everything in your setting looks calculated, re-checked and in place. Now I KNOW the shots will be great! Looking forward to seeing them.

Thanks David!
They came out OK, I guess. Couple of really solid ones.
This was the first time I tried the dual-side lighting. I'm still try to achieve that very recognizable playboy/maxim look (light-wise, not necessarily nude-wise:-) but I don't think I'm doing it right . Need to tear down this setup (which I used for the last 6 weeks) and start from scrath.
What's taking so long!?? :thwak Put em up! Put em Up!
:lurk
sent you a pm btw.
Thank you, great info!
Yeah, I'm slow today. 100+ third day in a row. I'm dunking into my pool like very 30 minuites. PC overheats (for real), have its case open plus external fan blowing inside.
But I still managed to get two up:-) :ivar
As Joe McNally mentions in his wonderful book:
"available light is every light that is friggin available"
Is that a black muslin drape for your bg?? It seems that model in black is worth it the way it gets moved around and such. It's BIG too. Are you using two?? Or are there extensions available?

It' not a muslin. It's a 20 (!) yards of a sturdy 3 yards wide (!!) synthetic material I got at LA Fashion District, same area where I got my chiffon. I'm planning to visit it soon again and pick up some more bg material.
It's hard to beat the price and variety. For a price of a single boring used ad nauseum "old masters" muslin I can get like 100+ yards of various fabrics and mix and match them later to create many really unique looks.

For the record, I hate you. >:Z
That's an old skool emote. It means "For the record, I hate you."
I can pick up some 20'/6' cream white muslin from Sherwin williams for 20 bucks, I think.
We don't have crazy fabric fairs. It sucks, like you do.
I'll probably just work with paper and whatever else I can find.

There must be at least same advantages in living close to LA.
Like a beautiful weather. Or a nice scenery. Or tons of willing models. Or that Fabric Distict. Pacific beaches. Disneyland, etc.
You know, those little perks that make one's life not so miserable..:-)

For some reason I can't find cheap paper around here. Maybe I didn't look strong enough...

Have a great 4th!
Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants if I could find bolts and bolts of fabric from say... one of the many paper manufacturing factories around here in the midwest. Hmmm. Don't have a lot of models around but tons of prairie land, farmland, I don't have to climb cliffs to escape a cityscape. I don't like big cities and I'm not fond of choking on smog.
*inhales delicious clean air with tons of flower and spice in the air because the TONE'S spice factory is over the hill* MMMmm paprika.
