Can we not have galleries within galleries?

Essentially im looking for albums within albums.

For example;

Im importing evertything over from my photobucket account.

On there I had a gallery called "April 25th 2007"

The gallery had no pictures themselves in it, but inside that were two more galleries - "FNCK Launch" and "Amandas last night in lpool" - and inside them lay the photographs.

Can I do this with Smugmug? I cant seem to find a way? There is that subcategory thing but there is only an option for one subcategory in the main album.

    You can create a category named "April 25th, 2008". Then create a gallery called "Amanda" and place it in the "April 25th, 2008" category.

    Go to my page thegearharts.smugmug.com and take a look. Specifically at the Wedding one. The "Our Wedding" is a category. Once you click that, it loads the galleries.

    There are currently 3 levels available:
    >>> categories >>> subcategories >>> galleries

    Many folks use just categories and galleries, but subcategories can also be useful if you want to add a level of organization.

    Photos are in galleries. Galleries are organized into categories (and optionally subcategories). See the help page at http://www.smugmug.com/help/upload-photo.

    Hi nish,

    Additionally, there is some more info about subcategories here on the Smugmug wiki. The FAQ that Denise linked has more detailed step-by-step information about how to set this up in your control panel.

    Hi

    Firstly - Thanks for the replies :)

    Joe - Im looking at you page now and you have Wedding as one link on the homepage and that branches out to what I am trying to achieve.

    However, mine on the home page shows a link straight to the gallery and not "April 22nd"

    Here let me show you..

    http://nishrons.smugmug.com/

    Thats my homepage. If you scroll down you can see Amandas Last Night in Lpool and FNUK 3rd BDay are showing as different galleries on the homepage rather than an April 22nd gallery being there.
    However if you click on them, it shows the path as being
    nishrons > April 22nd 2005 > Amandas Last Night In Lpool

    As shown here

    http://nishrons.smugmug.com/gallery/5246098_mShMH#318987144_FSgfU

    Forgive me if Im missing something totally obvious here but Im a little confused as to why its not showing up the way you have yours headscratch.gif

    On your homepage (when you are logged in) is a link that lets you control whether you are displaying galleries or categories on your home page. You have it set to display galleries, not categories. Flip that setting and it will display your structure by category.
