Move Category into Subcategory

Hello there

I would have thought this would be quite a common request but can't find any mention of it so here's the question.

On my Smugmug page, I have photos organised as follows...

(year is category) (where we went is sub-category) (then gallery) for example..

(2001) (Mexico) (Beach)
(2001) (Mexico) (Hotel)

But, for the current year so that they appear on homepage I use..

(where we went is category) (then gallery) for example..

(Florida) (Hotel)

This is my first year with Smugmug so I picked this structure without much thought but, now it's 2008 I need to move several 2007 categories over.

Is there an easy way of converting a category into a subcategory with all the albums following it or will I have to do it manually?

Cheers
K

    In the same boat...
I'm also in the same situation. I'm a new smugger and now that I have several galleries uploaded, I realized I could have structured them a lot smarter. I would like to move currently unpublished galleries into sub categories of one password protected public gallery. I'm not seeing any friendly way to do this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Maybe there's a 3rd party tool that makes this easier?

Have you looked at SmugBrowser - http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=47484?

I often use that when I need to update all of the galleries within a category, or even if I just need to update the characteristics of a single gallery. It's easy and fast to change the category/sub-category assignments of galleries using with tool.
