Stretching Her Wings

This young juvenile osprey was stretching it's wings over it's nest today. I think it's pretty close to leaving the nest. I had overcast skies so I had to add a few steps to get exposure right. I used the D300 and Sigma 120-300.

    Great Osprey shots Jon. Send a couple my way, they seem to have disappeared around here, haven't seen one in 9 months.

    I tell her to head up there. We are fortunate along the Gulf Coast that most of the osprey stay in the area. Now, we just need some more bald eagles!

    Nice images. Too bad in the last two it wasn't landing on something natural. That would have been perfect!

    True. However, the ospreys built their nests on top of a center field light so this pair seems to prefer modern conveniences. :D

    I'm impressed John, very nice images. Seems like Alabama is raptor central! Nice photos.
