Welcome... I think this photo is great... I love the silhoutted figure and the fact that the waves are almost diagonal to the frame.... well composed ...

Great shot!! I like everything in the shot, but most of all the formation of the sky!

My brother and sister in law, as well as my parents, want to bring me to visit Vietnam, some time, since we are Vietnamese as well!

This is a truly stunning shot. The story and colors are wonderful, and I like how the sky frames the figure and boat below. The sharpness of the waves rolling in is also a nice touch.

I did wonder what this would look like with a little cropped off the left side. I'm not certain if it would pull the focus in a little more and help things or eliminate too much space and hurt.

My father was born in Hanoi and my mother was born and raised in a farming village, I think, near Saigon. My parents left Vietnam in the 70s during the war and my brothers and I were born and raised in America.

But they want to bring us back to visit the country. I hope that I can one of these days!

@Moogle Pepper : i lived in southwest of vietnam it's called KienGiang province. have much beach, forest, stream, cuves and more... it's far away with SaiGon (200km). anyway, nice to meet you, if you have a plan come here and take pictures i will help you.

Whoa Nhan... #2 and #3 are stunning... #2 especially... I love the fact that your shots are so uncluttered and simple- yet so mesmerizing... Awesome job...

If you post some more shots, then please do so in a separate thread so that we know you have posted some more....


BTW I went to your gallery and love the shots there. In particular I have to say, I love that B&W HDR shot (not sure if it is HDR, but some people who have commented said it is)... Very nice...


Excellent work my friend. I was in Ho Chi Minh city a couple of years ago and loved it there. I will never forget the trip to the Meekong delta and the backwaters... was really nice and I hope to go there again in the near future...

thank you so much. it's helpful for me and visitors! and thanks for the compliment & visit my flickr gallery. yeah vietnam have much nice place for take pictures. i lived in southwest of vietnam and my City far away SaiGon maybe (200km ) . and i only see Saigon in television and i haven't been SaiGon. i love my homeland. if you can come here maybe you will love also because have much nice place and ancient culture very vietnam. and you can see #2 picture. it's only available at vietnam. and have you ever hear floating market ( market on river ). it's only available at southwest vietnam.
hope some day i can see you in vietnam. nice to meet you Shniks!!!!

These are beautiful! I am curious if you used a sunset filter or did any post processing to get the color? Not that it matters, the images are gorgeous and speak for themselves! Well done and we all look forward to more from you!
