I like how he's so bright and colourful and so interested in the camera [he's peening at you!] and the surrounding area has light texture and shape and the colours are subdued. It's a wonderful contrast and he's almost cupped in the flower. It's like you posed him. What a good model!

this is a full frame image shot with D300 Sigma 300 mm 2.8 as you can see I am very close, as the birds are quite happy for me to be around
