Geometric Design - How to shoot this better?

I came across this opportunity at the James Avery headquarters in Kerrville TX. I was surprised to find this mediterranean-looking pathway in the German part of the Hill Country. Regardless, I thought it was intriguing for some shots. I picked some to try to convey what I was seeing and picked the best shots (IMO). I'd like some ideas on what would have been a better approach to capture this. Besides lighting, which is my biggest problem area, what might I have tried in the way of comp, DOF, angle, etc.

Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks! Lauren

I swear that within the last six weeks or so, someone else (lessin' o'course it was you) posted other photos of this same place here on DGrin. I didn't follow the thread, but you might try rooting around.
