Self Portrait Technique

I do and will do a lot of self portraits. Is there a way to see the pic being lined up thru a compy or anything so you see what you're taking?
I was thinking of LCD screen on with a mirror behind... but batt life not so much.
Thoughts? Discuss.

Tether the camera to a laptop or a TV (LiveView)...
Oh wait, you nikonians don't have that option

I have a Nikon D80 and Macbook Pro.
Any ideas?
