What the blip is IR? Is it a filter? I know it takes out one color or allows for more monochrome than usual.
Looking at all the pros' pics on here makes me think I just need to pack up and go somewhere in town, just drive around and find stuff and snap, snap snap all the way.

Thank you, that was very informative without beating me over the head with lingo. I'll need a lens with front threads before ever pursuing IR. Very good advie. Thanks again!
