Shooting/PP the fog
I posted a 'fog shoot' in the Landscape section but later realized that it really belonged here. I'm struggling with the post-processing of some fog shots. Also wondering if my composition needs to be changed for shooting in these conditions.
We had some pretty dense fog the past two mornings and I tried my best to capture this town enveloped in the stuff. Used a +1 exposure compensation with manual settings metered off the fog. I think my compositions were a bit too busy for the conditions and would appreciate your thoughts on composing in the fog.
Also, as for post, I took the shots in raw format and processed them in Lightroom. For most, I boosted the blacks to 10, increased the clarity to about 15-20, vibrance to 8 or so and saturation about 4. Some had a slight boost to the highlights contrast or a decrease in the darks. All then got a bit of sharpening added. My goal was to bring out some detail in the subjects and not lose the beauty of the fog.
I look forward to your thoughts/technical advice.
Thanks in advance,
E

Thanks for the comment Scott.
Starting to think that b/w is the way to go with these.
I redid the one you liked in b/w (with some curves adjustment as well) and would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks again,
E
