Hi you'll,

At the beginning of this month a dgrinner and a fine photographer dragon300zx(aka Gary) passed through my area so we hooked up and shot together at the Wetlands for a couple of hours. It was a lot of fun and Gary was a great guy to shoot with. I concentrated on my guide role but I snuck in a few pics.

one of the locals was glad to see Gary

the birds were not cooperative at all but we got in some shots as they flew in at the end of the day to roost.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Hey Jeff,

Thanks and not to worry about the gators. They always run away when they see a human, so far anyway.

The first two little gators I saw ran away from us right away. I will have to post some of my gator shots in the next couple of days. Great shots as always harry. Now I really want a long prime lense.

    Very nice shots Harry thumb.gifthumb.gif

Sounds like you guys had fun too clap.gif That gator looks like he's thinking "Hmmm, fresh meat and he doesn't look as tough and stringy as that old dewd that's here every day" :lol4

You should hold a seminar down there. If the people still can't get good shots, after a day's worth of training, then they get fed to the gators :yikes Sort of a photographic version of Tough Love naughty.gif

Thanks for sharing and I hope Gary survived....lol

    Thanks Gary,

Those gators just don't trust us and who can blame them? I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your gator shots.

A long prime is a good idea if you ant to get wildlife shots. Now all ihave to do is convince my wife that I need that 500/f4 lens. :D

    Hey Steve,

We had a fine time, I just wish we had more than a couple of hours. As for those gators they are harmless except for the pair that I've trained to attack white lenses. biggrinbounce2.gif

    Hi Harry...
    Harry,

I really love this shot - I can't put my finger on why exactly: perhaps its the lighting or the mixture of sharp vs blur, but it's great. As for the gator, how big are the ones you see? I'd wager that the bigger they get, the less likely they are to run away!

Thanks Ric. The first shot has 3 different types of egrets in it (Great White, Snowy and Cattle egrets). With all those egrets who wouldn't like it? :D

This was the first time I ever saw a gator with his nouth open (I think it liksd Gary) so i had to grab a shot.

    Hey Kevin.

That's my favorite of the group too. It was right at dusk as all the egrets fly in to roost together for the night. The lighting was just fine that evening.

I've seen a couple of gators a lot larger than that fella in the wetlands. Its there mating season so they have been less likely to run away lately.
