Bald Eagle Juveniles

A few shots from today...the little ones are about 6 weeks old now, and should soon be flying - one of them was exercising its wings today.
Unfortunately, they were only active for a while this afternoon, when the sun was hitting them from a bad angle, and there is no way to see the nest from that side due to the tree cover, and I was unable to go back when the sun would have been hitting them straight on.

Hi, Two very healthy looking kids you captured there. I'm glad to see the two of them almost ready to fledge, to often that doesn't happen. We had two this year in our local nest (that is off limits to everyone, the Forest Service shuts down the whole area). They had two that made it but it has taken an extra month longer than normal and the forest is still closed. Normally the closure is way over by now but the two here are just learning to hunt.
