Problems getting full filename to download as part of "Save Photo" original

After searching through old posts and the help site, I'm unable to determine how to get my full, original filename to download as part of the "Save Photo" function.
Here's how I got to this point (using IE on a Vista PC):
1) Uploaded file "2007-04-28 1339.44 -- Foxfields-TheRaces 001 [mod].jpg"
2) Image URL is http://www.matthewmarcinek.com/gallery/2779061_iHT4K/1/148015374_RZXU8
3) Filename in gallery listed as "2007-04-28 1339 44 -- Foxfields-TheRaces_001 [mod]"
(note the period is converted to a space, though not truncated at that point)
4) Clicking "Save Photo" resulted in file download as "148015374_2007-04-28_1339.jpg"
My goal for step #4 would be to retrieve a copy of the original as:
"148015374_2007-04-28 1339.44 -- Foxfields-TheRaces 001 [mod].jpg"
or as a compromise (on spaces and other non-a.n. characters converted to underscores):
"148015374_2007-04-28_1339_44_--_Foxfields-TheRaces_001_[mod].jpg"
I'm not trying to do away with Smugmug's leading unique identifier, but I would like to see all the information Smugmug preserves as the image's filename to follow thereafter.
My best guess is that there's either a 15-character limit, or Smugmug truncates starting with the first period in the original filename (even if said period doesn't immediately precede a valid image file extension).
Any ways to get the interface to cooperate with the goal? Thanks in advance for your help.

Just as a trouble shooting step, have you tried to see if more of the filename is preserved if the original filename has no spaces in it, only one period and a shorter length? Some of this behavior is Smugmug and some of it is the browser. It would be useful to see what you get with a simpler circumstance and then slowly add back more complication until you see what breaks it. You could just take the same file, rename it to 5-10 different "test" names from simple to complex schemes, upload them all, then see what each gives you on a download. At some point you might want to try Firefox to see which issues might be browser-caused.

Just wanted to say thanks to whoever fixed this -- now on both XP and Vista with IE, the original filename downloads as expected. Spaces are converted to underscores, but periods no longer throw off the process by truncating at that point. Much appreciated, mystery SmugMug programmers.
