Out for a 20 mile walk

From around Springfield, IL, during a "Lincoln Heritage Trail" walk, roughly re-tracing the route that Abraham Lincoln took from New Salem to Springfield while he was a law student.

It's over 20 miles and the Scouts are pretty tired afterwards, but Lincoln used to walk both there and back in a single day (over 40 miles)!

    Ziggy! Thanks for posting this. What a lovely winding road. I would really like to take a hike down this peaceful-looking trail, too. So did the scouts walk all 20 miles???

    Woops sorry. I got busy and forgot about this thread.

    Yes, all of the Scouts in our troop finished, although some took some encouragement to complete the task.

    Yes it is. My son made the walk 6 times (I think) over as many years.
