Vermillion flycatcher female
Got an email from two Oklahoma birders on a nesting pair of vermillion flycatchers in a hackberry tree on Dead Indian Lake north of Cheyenne, Oklahoma. The wife and I drove there Sunday morning(about a two hour drive). The female was on the nest when we got there. I got several images, this is one of those images. Both of the birds were first year birds so the male did not have the dark vermillion color of an adult. Maybe next year. Evidently there was no record of this species in Roger Mills county.

Wow, 2 hour drive thank goodness they where there.
Does your bird club send out e-mails about rare birds they see or how does that work?
