Tufted Titmouse on the Feeder

I took these yesterday morning. We filled up the feeders and the birds came to dine! I just snapped away, hoping to catch something of interest. I got three nice ones with the seeds flying, plus a couple different poses. Also caught him on a green feeder, which adds some color to the shot.

C&C are welcomed. Thanks, Lauren

Nice catch of a fast mover. That is actually a black crested titmouse. It's the Texas variant. 9 times out of 10 this is what you see in San Antonio.

Thanks for the correction on the variant! I've been a birder for +30 years but sometimes I make quick assumptions and don't consider regional variants. Where do you find the best birding in this part of Texas?

    Thanks,
    Lauren

I'd check out Warbler Woods north of San Anotnio. There is an Audubon center at Mitchell Lake. The Hill Country is also a wealth of nice birding especially around South Llano River State Park.
